Army.ca

General

This page was created to provide information about the Canadian Army to:

  • past and present members of the military
  • military and civilian organizations
  • anyone with an interest in Canada's Army

Background

Army.ca first came online in December of 1993, under the name of The Canadian Army Home Page. At the time, it was one of Canada's first military sites on the Internet (quite likely the first). Since that time, the page has grown considerably, and is always in some stage of development. Much of the information has come from visitors to the page, who have graciously taken the time to contribute information, making a much better site.

Administration

Currently, this site consists of thousands of pages, containing of a wide variety of information. The Canadian Army Home Page is created, maintained and run by myself, Mike Bobbitt. I served as an officer in the West Nova Scotia Regiment for 6 years, and briefly with the Cameron Highlanders of Ottawa.

Although I maintain this page with personal funds, I receive no revenue from any visitors, companies or organizations (nor do I expect to). This page is not supported in any manner, either official or unofficial. As a result, the page often doesn't get the time or resources that I feel it deserves, however it also means that I can operate without the worry of following official administrative guidelines. Finding the time to devote to the page is often difficult, and I hope you will bear with me through it all.

Disclaimer

Once again, I would like to make it clear that this page is a private effort, and is in no way sponsored or connected to the Department Of National Defence, the Canadian Forces, or any other organization, military or civilian. Any information obtained from this page comes "as is" and I cannot be responsible for it's accuracy.
