Canadian soldiers have so many means of voicing their opinions about their leaders that I can not believe that they would resort to poison. Speaking directly to the individual concerned, exercising your right to use the chain of command, the redress system, writing to one's member of parliament, calling the MPs, writing to the Ombudsman or even E'sprit de Corps magazine come to mind as several avenues that are available to sort out the so-called "cowboys".

If any of the (accepted and formal) measures resulted in no action being taken then perhaps the soldier's opinion was wrong. To resort to poison is criminal and not worthy of a professional soldier.

Did the whole system fail the individuals involved and if it did, does this justify their actions? I think not.
