Good point Andy!

I think that for those reservists who go to their QL2 in either the summer between 11th and 12th grade, or the summer after they graduate high school, a QL2 that starts in late June and ends in early August is fantastic.

However I'm not a firm believer in the weekend course approach. From what I've seen it places a tremendous drain on a unit to provide a platoon/troop's worth of NCO's to train candidates every weekend from September to March/April for a QL3 level course. It is also common to have a higher percentage of candidates drop out due to the enormous inconvenience of training every weekend, as well as instructors getting burnt out with the same situation.

I think it is better for the individual soldier and the system if QL2/3 courses would be conducted over a summer/complete block time period.
