On the whole i will agree there has been a degradation in the quality of the QL2 and 3's being run
in the Militia over the past few years. I will say a lot of it depends on the course officer and his instructors.
I have witnessed two parallel infantry courses being run at Meaford where the training and standards between the two were vastly different
with one being considerably "tougher" mentally and physically then the other. The result was one group of undisciplined and unmotivated troops,
and the other was extremely motivated and switched on by the end of the course. I will not say which units or what courses these soldiers were on on.
It proved to me soft training makes a soft soldier. I would not trust these(softer) troops with anything more than a rubber rifle. My point is the
course quality depends on the staff more than anything else, also on a broader note, soldiering, especially combat arms is a deadly serious business
thus the need for adequate training.
