Why disband the Armies best soldiers? In reality, Canada has made a decision to maintain a general purpose capability within its army and the Artillery is one of the key combat functions that is reqr to maintaion that capability.

Although there is not a "clear and present danger" to Canada we still have our commtiments to NATO and this includes sending artillerymen overseas (as A and B Btys 1 HA are doing) or maintaining the capability to wage war.

Finally, I don't disagree with your comments on the "CNN Factor". Wars and peacekeeping support are waged through a nations newspapers as politicians try to garner support for their actions.
I fully supported the US led coalition into Kuwait. I feel it was a just war.
