You guys are missing the point I was trying to make. Before women were integrated into the Combat arms each unit was free to set their own standard of fitness and there was no real "standard". When women were being integrated it was recognised that there needed to be a CF wide standard in order to measure everone the same so the BFt for combat arms was developed. In the regs there is the BFT or 2X10 and in the reserve there was first the 3,2 and 13km and then nothing. In fact you can't fail or be fired for not completing the 13 km ruck. This loweringof physical standards has led those in the reserves (male and female alike) to believe that the army is all about "participating", the occasional weekend exercise, and being fair. Unfortunately the reality is that very few soldiers in the reserves, while technically trained i.e. they have been completed all the PO/EOs they have no real idea what a "bag drive" is and if they really knew it might force them to reassess their soldier skills.
