It is a shame that the government did not increase the CF baseline funding as
each of the three services are still running a deficit. However, the money
that has been allocated in terms of one time financing will start us down the
road of rebuilding after years of neglect. We must remember the Canadian
public puts tax cuts, health and education as much higher priorities over
defence spending. The Federal Government has at least acknowledged the
"rust out" of the CF. With the Canadian fiscal house
in order there will only be better news in the future federal budgets for the CF.
All citizens that are interesting in a vital military should continue to lobby on behalf
of all the soldiers in the CF. I can tell you I never expected the CF to place that
amount of money into the CF in this day and age.Gunner sends.....
