Ture, the how it will be spent is the big question now. The $1.9B really would only
pick up the EH 101 prgm where it was left in 1993. I disagree with the idea that
new armouries are a waste of money. Are the buildings at Edmonton Garrison a
waste of money as well? Do the Reserves deserve anything less? Lord knows they
have been living in less and funded with less for years. Moreover, if you have ever seen
how the Reserves live in Edmonton, you would realize it is absolutely sub-standard. It
is amazing the units have survived in Edmonton at all. I will be very disappointed though,
if DND spends all the money on a "white elephant" like we did in the late 80s for AD
equipment. $1B worth of equipment that is collecting dust, or soon will be.
