not nessesarily.
QM at CFB Toronto won't sell me anything, even with my army id. I have to put a loss report through my chain of command. I've had a shirt stolen from me in June and I've put in a loss report and it still hasn't come through.

That's the only way that the QM works! There are only some things that you can buy off the shelf, things that wear out, like socks, berets, t-shirts, etc... If it's not on the shelf at cash sales, then you can't buy it.

Other things, like helmets, webbing, rucksacks, gortex, you are only allowed to be issued your entitlement. So in order to get another one, you must go through all the crap associated with loss reports and whatnot, to make it official, so that they can subtract the "OLD" item from your docs and add the "NEW " item. So according to their files, you still only have one.

ya, but they won't even sell t-shirts or belts or gloves or even socks.
If you want new socks, you have to exhange your old ones and one is only entiled to three pairs.

That's crap, they're screwing with you. You can only buy as much as you're entitled to at any given time (can't buy more than 3 pairs of grey wool socks on one trip) Sounds like a supply tech on a power trip. Any idiot who makes you exchange that kind of stuff that they throw out anyway is a fool.

I figured it was crap but there's not a lot I can do about it. The remfs are on a total power trip there.
When I got issued my DEU's they issued me pants that were too short and I said so but they said they were find so when I went to Remembrance day my unit made me go home and change into combats. That was really fun.
And they say that they only issue steel toed boots in CFB Gagetown and if I didn't get them there then they can't order them, and golly it's too bad but you'll have to build the bridge in combat boots. They also say that C width combat boots don't exist when I know they do because I have a pair.
(ok I done complaining now)
