JNCO/JLC/ISCC...no matter what you call it it still is designed to produce EFFECTIVE jr. leaders, section commanders if your an infanteer.
Training standards, like the basic and QL3's that have been discussed are different across the boared. This I agree should not be the case.
I was ENFORCE last summer for several infantry and support trade JLC courses. I noticed a number of things. One that stands out is that there
seemed to be no clearly defined set of standards for the DS to follow when passing/failing troops on tasks, This was most aparent in the field
portion. Consequently several passed who should have failed and several failed who should have passed things like patrols. The standars seemed
to vary a lot between the DS themselves. Another problem I noticed was that a lot of the candidates were sent on the course very inexperienced.
Some had only been with there units less then a year. They hadn't the experience to be effective in the job they were being trained for. It showed
greatly in the field portion. Candidates would make stupid mistakes in patroling, things a little more EX experience would help them with. Its wasn't
the candidates fault, the units would just send them prematurely, they'd fail and the unit would waste the money on sending on a course they weren't p
prepared for. It doesn't make sense to me...I'm just saying what i observed, anyone care to comment...
