Obviously you know very little about the merchant marine now or during World War II.
Why don't you (and anybody else who agrees with you) read the book "The Unknown Navy" by Robert G. Halford.
Perhaps then you won't be so quick to make statements based entirly upon misinformation and falsehoods.
