As a complete civilian, I wish to express my opinion of our country's military uniform. Drab, boring, baggy, and very unappealing (speaking as a civilian). I believe that a sharper looking uniform would improve morale in the military or, at the very least, improve the respect that the military receives from the general public. When my friends see someone in the army wearing their uniform, their impression is not a very good one. A simple uniform merely reiterates their belief that to be in the army means that you're poor and couldn't get a real job. A simple uniform looks cheap and does little to increase the appeal of the military. While all this may sound superficial, if Canada's young males don't look on our soldiers as being "cool" or respected, than they have little chance of enlisting. Pride in your uniform is one thing, but shouldn't the uniform itself meet that same standard?
