  1. Resigning commission to change nationality?

Thank you. This is quite helpful.
  2. Resigning commission to change nationality?

Isn't a commission for life though? And therefore if you still hold a commission you can be recalled because of the oath of allegiance.
  3. Resigning commission to change nationality?

What I am wondering is: If an officer retired from active duty, and decided, for whatever reason, they wanted to become a citizen of another country. Would they have to resign their commission? This is research for a story I am writing... If this is in the wrong spot please move it.

  5. Time in Rank needed for promotions

Engineering Officer was the trade I was thinking for the character.
  6. Time in Rank needed for promotions

If this is in the wrong spot, and/or been discussed before, I ask forgiveness. My searches have been fruitless. I am doing some research for a novel I am writing, and I would like to have a reasonable timeline for the characters. How long would it take someone who graduated RMC for Civil...
  7. Survival FTX for Army Cadets

The FTX went well. Unfortunately for me I was taken off the project... At our September sports night, I was playing basketball with the cadets, fell and broke the patella tendon in my right knee. I was in the hospital when the exercise was on.
  8. Survival FTX for Army Cadets

We do at least two bivouac FTXs each year, plus a Nav FTX, which is what you described above... This is only for the senior cadets, so that is why I'm planning something a little more in depth. As long as we don't have any new "senior cadets" they all will have done multiple hoochie camping...
  9. Survival FTX for Army Cadets

Thank you for the quick reply. :) I absolutely am going to be contacting the Zone Trg O. As I understand, they are unavailable for the next while. The person who was the Trg O is moving to Ottawa, and the new one coming in, isn’t here yet… At least that is what I’ve been told. That said, this...
  10. Survival FTX for Army Cadets

Good day to you all, I am a volunteer instructor with my local army cadet corps. I am planning a senior cadet weekend for the beginning of this upcoming cadet year. I spoke to the cadets asking them what they wanted to do, and it was unanimous that they wanted to do a survival weekend. From...
  11. Drill Question for my Corps

When I said RSM, I meant the corps RSM, and as such senior cadet. Thank you both. Your answers are exactly what I needed :)
  12. Drill Question for my Corps

So, my corps (army) is getting ready for our annual inspection, and I can't seem to find the info anywhere in the drill manual. When does the RSM join the parade? Does the RSM fall the corps in? Or does the RSM come on with the officers, and take over?

In searching the web, I think I have found it. http://www.11rca.ca/web_pdf/prep.pdf
  14. Interview advice (merged)

Hi All, I am applying to become a CIC officer, and I just got the date for my interview. I know that the CIC isn't the same as the Reg Forces, or even the Primary Reserves, but I still want to succeed at my interview. On another thread there was talk about an interview prep form, but when I...
  15. CIC application time.

That is fair enough. Thank you for your response.  :D
  16. CIC application time.

Hello All, I have applied to become a CIC officer with my local army cadet corps (2923 Exeter), and am currently a CV with the corps. We had a FTX this past weekend, and were discussing the process, and the CO was saying that with everything going on in the Reg Forces right now, that the...
  17. How to address a WO

    Thank you. :)
  18. How to address a WO

I didn't know where to put this, so I'm sticking it here.... I cannot for the life of me remember from when I was a cadet... is the proper form of address for a Warrant Officer "Sir/Ma'am" or is it "Warrant?" Thank you. Jonathon
  19. CIC recruiting process...the medical

Hey all, I hope that I have this in the right forum. If not... well I guess we'll cross that if it comes to it.  ;D So, I am volunteering at my local army cadet corps, and am looking at taking the step to become an officer. I once years ago tried to join the army, but the doctor wouldn't...
