WARNING... CIVILIAN RANT AHEAD! [Mad]

Amazing that so many committees, groups and such (i.e. Auditor General, CDA, CCS 21, etc) can come to the same conclusion about our Armed Forces and still the Liberals do nothing to increase defence spending! Jeez, even the NDP agreed to the Defence Committee's recommendation to increase defence spending by 50% in the next 3 years (to $18 Billion). Man, why can't the government get it through their patronage soaked heads that the Forces need money, people and equipment to do their jobs. This government needs an enema! [Mad]

Anyone think John McCallum will do any better than Eggleton at getting the purse strings opened?

McCallum won't do any better. I feel sorry for the guy. A rookie MP with no military experience, in a ministry as senior as defence is supposed to be? There is a reason Cretin did it. Not sure why yet...... perchance, do they need a fall guy for something?
WHY DON'T THEY GET IT????? PATRONAGE!!
NO MONEY FOR CF!! PEOPLE ARE PISSED OFF!!!!!!! AARRRRRRGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!
[Fifty] There , I feel better.

The biggest thing about this story is NOT the dire situation of the military. We've all known about it for a long time, as has any citizen with an inkling of what the military is doing for them.

To me, the far more important issue is that the government sat on an internal report that stated what the military has been saying for years. Worse, the government repeatedly stated the exact opposite.

I think this lends further credence to the opinion that the PM is trying to win the helicopter war at any cost -- he screwed up, then he lied, and now he doesn't want to get caught out.

I really hope the little scrapper goes down swinging. Or not -- as long as he hits the mat and we don't have to deal with him again.
