I think you're right - let's work on the homeless before worrying about other countries - however, that's what happened around 1935, and then look what happened! Aid would be more useful over there, but how much of it would actually reach the people who need it (Somalia/Haiti rings a bell here)? And yeah, I agree totally - let's kill the SOB leaders and see how eager idiots are to step up to the front!
Don't forget too, that a lot of these people aren't used to our big cities - Vancouver, T.O., Ottawa, etc, and coming from a country where English is not widely spoken, to a place where the buildings are higher than the mountains they're used to, it will be enough of a culture shock as it is. I just hope we get enough people out before the crap really hits the fan.
