You mentioned pensions, and once again I note that Canadian reservists do not receive any pension benefits for their military service (except for a "retirement benefit", which only serves as an enticement at certain "thresholds" of time served, and which has also been described elsewhere as "encouraging senior reservists to quit, thereby robbing the reserves of any so-called corporate memory").
