I am a reserve officer and in my civilian career I design computer payroll and human resource systems for large (5000+) organizations. I can tell that part time, full time and casual employees are all paid exactly the same rate of pay per unit of work (eg per day). The difference between the full timer and part timer are in the benefits offered to the full timer such as pension, insurance, sick time, etc
