On another clothing topic, maternity combats. Speaking as someone who has been there, this idea is completely absurd. I never once found that wearing dress CFs was a hardship or discriminatory. Looking at the combats for pregnant servicewomen, I think the CFs would be more comfortable.
As often happens with pregnant women, I suffered some swelling of the legs and ankles. I could never have worn combat boots for the last four months of my pregnancy. Without combat boots, the uniform looks very poor. I think we have all seen the look of combats with running shoes... pretty sight! Also, I didn't need to change dress until I was four months pregnant. Do we really need to spend the money on maternity combats for two to five months of pregnancy?
I hope that the idea of maternity combats will quickly fade away.
