I didn't think it would be the country in which I reside in that would give birth to the ressurection of the Kommisar (or Political Officer). I was informed last night that all members above the rank of M/Cpl were required to attend Diversity Training (in addition to SHARP, Harrassment, WHMIS and numerous other non-related topics). This lecture will be taught by the CO but will be 'audited' by a 'Facilitator' that will ensure that the content is properly covered and understood. There are currently two Kommisars in our brigade group but more are being trained as we speak. Will they wear a special uniform or insignia to demonstrate their complete and undeniable devotion to the Cause? If you don't trust your Regimental Commanders, who do you trust? Who watches the Kommisars, I wonder? I guess that the issue of "The Leader" pam wasn't enough so the Politicians had to ensure loyalty in a more direct methodology. What's next? Camps, re-education programs, student kommisars? We thought that the West won the Cold War with the defeat of Soviet Communism; Bullshit...they just changed the names and moved their center of power.
I have to go bury my guns and gold now....
