It would seem that it is time to get rid of the aging Hi-Power. Although it is still a fine pistol, the deficiencies noted in previous posts makes it kind of a dated weapon. The P-226 would be a great replacement. I carry a version of the Sig-Sauer, the P-229 daily, which is essentially identical to the 226, except it is chambered for .40 S&W.; I have never had a stoppage, never had a problem at all. I got mine new and I know that I have fired at least 2500 rounds through it without a problem. It is an easy weapon to maintain, I am not as diligent about cleaning it as most are, and I have yet to encounter any problems. There are many trigger configurations available, Double-Action Only (DAO), Double-Single, Single-Action Only. The version I use is DAO. This means you can carry one up the spout and there is no external safety to worry about, the only safety is your finger and the 12.12 pound trigger pull, it works just like an old revolver. This would probably be the best version for military use, as it is the simplest. Anyways, that's my two cents - (CSM Devine, quit crying, I know you love your Hi-Power, but it's time to get with the 90's)
