The group you want to get ahold of are the Canadian Forces Liaison
Council (CFLC). I found a link for them but I can't seem to make
it work.

You could try the Recruiting Centre, or the unit that you want to
join. Check the Blue Pages of the phone book. I tried Canada411,
and CanadaTollFree, to no avail.

I know the CFLC will write or visit employers on behalf of
Reservists. They'll also tell your employer about the benfits of
having a Reservist employee, and how your training will be of benefit
in the workplace: first aid, leadership, and so on.

You should check with your employer's Human Resources group and ask
about their policy on taking a leave of absence. They'll often allow
people to go to school or away for training and retain their job.
You're just asking to go and get your initial military training,
after that you'll mostly work weekends and for a week or two in the
summer.

Don't give up, keep us informed.
