The RCMP is underfunded. Occasionally a police member commits a wrongdoing (wrongful shooting or misconduct). Do these facts rule out becoming a police officer?
A very, very few soldiers have committed outrageous acts (murder, rape). From time to time we learn of another religious leader or educator who admits to child molestation. Are clergy and teacher to be excluded as well?
These are all honorable pursuits from which the actions of a few weak-minded individuals should not detract. Soldiering is no different.
