The test is not that hard. Mostly, if I recall, it's multiple choice. If you are reasonably intelligent -- and I have no reason to think otherwise -- you should do all right. What you do in the reserves has a lot to do with your particular trade. For example, if you are an infantryman you'll probably do small arms training (we all did to some degree) and a lot of time learning how to use ground to your advantage. I mostly drove small trucks and moved things, learned how to use an FN rifle (I'm old, you guys have C7s now), and a lot of other things. It was a good experience. I also did a brief (very) stint with the naval reserve as well, but really didn't like it at all and left before I learned anything or wasted more taxpayer money than necessary.
