The occurance of lawful, responsible citizens possessing firearms commiting crimes (violent or otherwise) in this country is extremely low compared to the unlawful citizens that have no responsibilities commiting most of the crime. Lawful possesion of firearms is not a reason for the military or law enforcement to assume guilt of intent. That is where the majority of this countrys' misconceptions arise regarding Gun Control. There is no such thing! Either you allow the lawful possession of weapons in the hands of responsible citizens or you don't. If you don't then you must have a power base in effect that can look after the best interests of the lawful citizen by exerting the maximum punishments for the citizens that commit crimes. You cannot have both the freedom to prosletize and at the same time restrict the actions of everyone. Take a long, hard look at some of the decisions made by your government in the last two decades and try to discern the direction that they are guiding this country into the next millenium. This is the greatest country in the world (for now) and I'm thrilled to be lucky enough to be here and a citizen.
I'm also very happy to note that you feel the the DND "will have a much easier time with it". As I stated in my post, they don't, won't and where does that leave us strategically?
