Poppies were moved to the collar because the Army RSMs (via the Army RSM and Area RSMs) asked for it. Also because the entire civilian population wears it on the outer garment. Also because it can remain worn and visible indoors, when hats are removed.
The tans were removed because the Army RSMs asked for it to be so...supported, I might add, by a great number of all ranks. The purpose in eliminating them was to reduce the number of uniforms the troops had to care and pay for.
No one wanted to wear forage caps either (other than a minority of Regiments, but even they were not united...). This only applies to the Army so, no loss there.
Clerks aren't called clerks? That's news to me, but I don't see what that has to do with officers being politicians. Have you asked the clerks?
Journeyman....sounds more like a level than a rank to me. Why does this aggravate anyone?
Do you want to hear why puttees are no longer worn? And we don't shout "bullets, bullets..." anymore in the assault. Now there's a sign of rot!...
Sorry for the sarcasm, but really...do you have any good arguments?
