What I perhaps should have mentioned is that 'Denis Whitaker' is actually Brigadier General W. Denis Whitaker DSO, then Lieutenant-Colonel Commanding, Royal Hamilton Light Infantry. 'Shelagh' is his wife; they collaborated on two excellent and well-researched books, the other being RHINELAND.

His theories are new, but they made terrible sense.
