The War Diary - Frequently Asked Questions and Answers

Here is a brief explanation of some of the questions you may have about The War Diary.

Why does The War Diary look so different?

I have upgraded The War Diary to use new software.

What are the differences?

The biggest difference is the use of separate files for each entry. This means that you will no longer have to load one large file when you enter the War Diary. You will be presented with a short list of message titles, and you can select click on the message info to read it's contents. Messages are also sorted by thread, so it's easier to read everyone's comments on a particular topic.

Why has The War Diary Moved?

To put it simply, my ISP was charging too much for the extra traffic which The War Diary was creating. The new location is free (at least for now) and therefore a better choice for me.

Can I put html tags anywhere in my posts?

No. You can not use HTML tags in any field except body of the message.

Why didn't my post show up?

Your post most likely did not show up, because your browser did not reload the page, it simply pulled it out of cache. Please reload the page and it should then appear.

Where can I get the scripts for this program?

The scripts are written in Perl and created by Matt Wright. They are free to anyone who wishes to use them and you can get them as well as other scripts at: http://worldwidemart.com/scripts/. Enjoy!
