In LFAA, unless theve changed it since I moved N O'60. The JLC/JNCO crse was back to a one serial with no break up between the two. The Other Arms course runs about 6 weeks and the Infantry course runs 9-10 Another difference I have noticed between LFAA and other areas is that most of the instructonal staff (including directing staff) for ARTS/NRQS are militia with very few regular force instructors employed (trust me here I was in a mortar tasked regiment and we went 3 yrs in a row without running a course due to lack of guys with Adv Mortars to run the course).

With reference to the JLC being all that is required for appointment to MCpl, that is not so. Within the Air Force and the Navy, the CF JLC is the sole requirement for promotion. For Land Trades except infantry the requirement is to have completed the CF JLC and LFC JNCO, for the infantry you must complete the JLC and LFC JNCO (Infantry). An interesting aside though if you are in the Air or Sea environment and are posted to a Army unit you must complete the LFC JNCO course to keep you appointment to MCpl (can't remember where I got that little tidbit, it may not be true)
