Many writers are fairly upbeat and interesting to read.
But there are a few of us, young folks, that cannot
believe how one tiny segment, or maybe it's larger than
we suspect, has been disregarded in their efforts to be
recognized for their military contribution and to get
some well deserved compensation for their injuries and
trauma.

One such group, was that which was conscripted by the
British once it his British soil. My step-father was one
of those. To further reduce the scope of this group we
can look at those who received medals, badges, awards,
improvement in rank, and so on. But there is still one
group that the military on both sides of the Atlantic
have completely forgotten and ignored.

"The Queen's Corporal" was awarded, I have found, to onlly
five Canadians by the British. One of which was my step-
father. He served with the British 8th Army's, Corps of
Engineers. As he returned suffering from PTSS and was
to serve some time in a mental hospital, early gathering
of the details of his degree of participation were not
to be had. His trauma exists still. He made two attempts
to have his disability recognized so that he could
receive benefits. On the second try he was successful
in getting the late George Hees to plead his case to the
British authorities in his capacity as Minister of
Defense. He was stonewalled. My step-father was crest-
fallen and turned very bitter, to the point that now
he refuses to allow anyone to help him. The number one
stumbling block is getting his service IDN and signature
so that others can continue to fight for him.

If any of you readers would like to run a commando
mission and try to find out the following information,
you can contact me at my e-mail address for further
information.

1: what is "The Queen's Corporal?"
2: what are the particulars of this distinction
3: how can one get a former soldier's IDN so that his
service record can be accessed
4: how to access service records without worrying about
the OSA
5: how to get benefits for someone who won't co-operate
on their own behalf
6: how to get recognition for the five who were awarded
this distinction
7: how to get this award recognized and noted in the
appropriate compendia

Thanking you in advance.
