I have no problem at all with the Vandoos or anyone else training to be physically fit, for a biathalon or whatever. It wasn't my intention to try to compare at all. Again my post was put in the wrong spot. My fault entirely. As for my post, I do not apaogize at all. I believe I said " the final nail in the coffin" for the Airborne Regt. It's a forgone conclusion that they(Vandoos) weren't the only reason for what happened, just the final straw. Over the years, the Vandoos have been a wild and crazy bunch. They have been the principal reason for bad press that affected all of the Army and military in general, over the last few years. I guess you could say that I for one feel PO'd about that and the posting about the Vandoos just brought that to the forefront in my mind. Everytime something happened, over recent time, to bring disgrace and bad press onto the military, it was a unit of the Vandoos that happened to be the culprits. If the shoe fits...... I haven't been in the army for a lot of years, both regular and reserve, and I get embarassed when things like that happen. I shouldn't, but I do.. The truth hurts, Jules, and maybe if more of us said something about it, somebody would get the message that what brings disgrace to the Army in general affects a whole lot of people, serving presently and those not srving anymore. This is something that has stuck in my craw for a long time now and that posting about the Vandoos, just happened to be the catalyst for me. My friend Larry also said the same thing to me the other day. What does it have to do with physical trainig and I realized that it was in the wrong spot and could be taken the way it was taken.
