I figured while I was home visiting for a few days that I would submit some points of view of mine, and Im interested to hear what you have to say as well.

From my eyes... it seems the Forces are starting to treat the soldiers like skimpy, low down, mud flies. I have seen it. When I was reserving it, I'll admit I didnt know much better, but then after joining the regular force and after hearing people talk, some things have become more clear, and it is quite obvious plenty of things are being seriously overlooked by the 'higher in commands.' For one thing I often wonder where the hell all the Tax payers money goes, it sure as isnt to the forces. I mean, they expect us to be so well disciplined, provicient and be able to compete on a world wide scale against other militaries with similiar results of proficiency, yet they somehow find ways to limit us to very low-end consumptions of ammo for weapons training, shitty and unorganized field training (when we actually do get to go out), bad leadership skills by more then a couple of officers, the list goes on. I didnt join the army to live like a king mind you, but I also expected more for our commitment then just meat and potatoes.

I will not complain about benefits or payments because for me they are wonderful. I went from working construction making 12.50 an hour, to field engineer making *less*, but enjoy doing what Im doing now, the variety of tasks we get to do is fun enough that for right now money is no object. And the benefits are always there. Also the fact that Im currently single is an excellent opportunity to save my money for future uses. I have no committments and like five monthly bills. For others on the other hand, that are blowing the army for there payment scales, I say this; you knew how much you were to be paid when you came aboard or atleast should have considered. If your trying to raise a family of three kids, with a wife that stays home, then obviously you are struggling, my advice would suggest you go back to school and finish where you left off, perhaps get a real working mans job. I realize that the military can be a career for many members, but how many 26 year old Infantry Privates can support two kids and a wife on what they're making a month.

Dont get me wrong folks Im not blowing off our military for every aspect, but for the bad points they should be corrected, I feel they need some people in the goverment that know what our army needs and how to treat the troops for the job we do and under the conditions we do it in.

Wilson out!
