Just as a little background, I made several posts to the War Diary with ref to the poor shape of the pay system for Reserves. Gen Walker made several posts to the Diary in which he acknowledged that there were problems. Today everyone can agree that there were major problems with the Reserve pay system (and still a number of problems exist today) Regardless that is not the issue at hand.
A couple of months after my posts I was marched into my CO's office and asked to explain why Gen Cox was complaining to our Comd about some renegade officer shooting his month off about pay problems. Obviously the CO was pissed that the Comd was breathing down his neck. Naturally the question at hand was why was I posting this information/complaints on the net?
Simple answer, Gen Cox had requested for soldiers to post any complaints to him on this page. Several months earlier Gen Cox posted to the Diary that he was the new IG and he wanted to hear from soldiers about the problems which existed. What happens when you make these posts, the good Gen goes behind your back and has a Col and LCol running around looking for answers. Gen Cox forgot to inform the Col that he had requested this info from soldiers.
Once I showed Gen Cox's posts to my CO it became a pretty much a dead issue. (If there is a way to look at postings from 1997 you can read them for yourself.)
If your still out there Gen Cox, please come back and explain yourself. Why did you request info from soldiers and then ask our Comds to come down on us?
