Why the rant you say!!! Well I really dislike people who go around and do things without pushing the buttons to find out if the complaints are true or not. I always tell my people not to listen to rumours but go right to the horses mouth to get the right answers. That's not to say that mistakes can't be made but in my mind, it's pretty sad when the IG of LFC has no idea that his men & women are not getting their clothing etc. Especially when he reads it here and other places, and still has to tell COs to do something about the men and women who are doing the complaining, instead of finding out the facts. When you sit in his position, you had best not make any bone head mistakes, because if you do then you're subject to my rantings and anybody elses'. Yes you're right about it being pretty well known, but he did the damage while it was going on. I remember all the dittys about no boots, combat gear, etc., to be had. You're also right about the media blowing things out of proportion, but I don't think that has happened in this instance. As for educating the public. I think that was done when the commision went around to the bases and the findings were made public. The trick now is to get the bosses and the politicians off their rears and fix the problems. The general publics' opinion of the Forces is good and they are for the changes to take place. What life is really like for you,is your responsibilty to get straightened out, but then if you are in the military, you can't say a whole lot in public, can you????? Mr Leary I was in and out, probably long before you were born, and the same BS was happening back then. No back up from the higher ups. So I'll do my ranting when I think it might be seen by somebody like General Cox, and I wish I could remember the nickname given me by a senior NCO last summer,because you never know what might come of it. The squeaking wheel might get greased if more people let them have it with both barrels once in a while. By the way my wife always says I'm perfect......I'll let you decide on what it is I'm so perfect about. I don't want to get into a shouting match but I do think you need an attitude adjustment. You don't want me to have to go into what I think of the way the Forces are run in this day and age. Well another story has been written by me, so I'll quit now. Stay safe MR. Leary.
