I don't think anyone denies this is a great idea - and its really, really nice to see the government do something like this for our vets and their memory, after so many scandals in the past (ie Merchant Marine vets). It's just a fun topic to discuss, that's all. Opinions are like assholes, and no one is kidding themselves on that point. That's what message boards are for, after all. So I hope no one keeps them to themselves - share for all - and why not.

it is rather revolting, however, that you think its okay for DND staff to be worried about personal "career opportunities" in the midst of all this - I should think honouring our dead should take precedence - and not be used as an excuse to enhance one's ticket punching. But that's a whole other argument we've all heard before.

Anyway, well said - I was keen on getting an answer to Soldier Grrl's question too, so I'm glad you came forward. It's also a sin what happened to Canada's Guards regiments - perhaps that too is another story.
