HAHA! I sounded like one of the reg force guys who come on here and whine that everyone who isn't in the infantry (not to mention jump and Ranger trained) should quit the army.

Well, I did mean a little disrespect for those who decided the Army shouldn't bear the casket - but looking at the footage (that in France, anyway) it looked like all the services, RCMP included, were represented. Which is the way it should be. I couldn't really believe (but then again, wouldn't have been surprised to see) that the pall bearers would be RCMP to the exclusion of all else - that would have been equally wrong, yes?

As for the meathea...for the Provost Corps, yes, they obviously served an important role - as important as all the other services, RCASC, RCOC and the other rear area "weiners" included. And their deaths were just as tragic.

It's just hard to see the government and their civvie bureacracy continually mess things up and continue to piss on our traditions. At least the CBC got things right (so I am told) when their broadcast noted the truck was not really correct, but that the gun carriage and limber were.
