Gentlemen:
I am hoping someone might assist me in finding information regarding my father's unit in WWII.
He was trained as an artillery officer at Gordon Head BC in 1942 and sent to England in early 1943. He was re-assigned for intelligence training while there, and was then detailed to the #3 Wireless Intelligence Company (I believe this is the correct designation).
I have several pictures of him in England in 1943, and then one dated June 1945 of him by his tent in the forest near Almelo, The Netherlands, near the northern German border. I know only that following the end of the war, he (his unit?) was assigned to assist in sorting out German prisoners for some months until his return.
I would be most interested in any information anyone could provide regarding this unit, including what Regiment or Division they were assigned to, who they supported, activities and the like.
With regards,
Wayne Conner
