The South Saskatchewan Regiment was busy during August 1944, The Regiment's Battle Honours during this month and those honours' effective dates are as follows:

FALAISE (7-22 Aug 44)
Falaise Road (7-9 Aug 44)
The Laison (14-17 Aug 44)
Foret de la Londe (27-29 Aug 44)

This list is not to indicate that these were the only actions in which the South Sask R fought, but rather they are the specific actions which were of such importance to the Regiment that they were selected as its particular Battle Honours during Aug 44. Similarly, these are only four of the Regiment's 19 Battle Honours of the Second World War, notable among them "Dieppe."

These place names may help you trace the Regiment's movements during the period in question. Good luck with your search.

Mike
