I thank you both for your input on a most complex problem. I see real merit in your explanation Mary, and I have thought back to my first exposure to my Section Comm and Plt Comm (this was back in the early days when tanks were pulled by horses) and you are quite correct that my impressions of professionalism was based on my perceptions of those individuals.

Mr.Knight, you present a very logical argument without the usual empassioned vitrole that accompanies tirades of perceived 'injustices'. Are you currently serving? I have in my new platoon, a passionate young SrNCO that has recently returned from the Leadership School in Pet where he has taught for the last year. He is somewhat disturbed about the differences he has noted in the approach to leadership training between the full time courses and the 'weekend' programs. He has asked permission to contact the Leadership school regarding means and methodology of candidate assessment reporting verses the method currently in use by us. I only wish that my entire platoon could be so empassioned as this SrNCO!!! It is my hope that the higher staff of the organization that I work for will recognize the advantages of the new system and adopt it as their own. The only problem that I have with this whole situation is that this information should have come down through the chain of command to be utilized ASAP. Why does it have to come from the bottom of the chain? Who's not listening or who's not doing their job?

All the Best
