I don't know if this helps with recruit training info you are searching for but here is an alternate idea that worked very well for out unit.

We phoned each of the highschools in the area and offered them the opportunity to become ww 2 recruits for an afternoon at our local armoury in Moose Jaw. All the highschools accepted our invitation as part of the history 20 and 30 curriculum.

Upon arrival the recruits were met by by three of our m/cpls that quickly marshalled the individuals into one line tallest to shortest and then sized them.
off then for a quick medical exam from our m/cpl medic female for a height, mouth and cough (use your imagination. Over to QM for issue of coverals and weapon (camoflauge pole) and then for a couple of periods of drill. Out to a grenade toss range we made up with sandbags and fig.11 targets.

Through a meal line of weiners and beans and then up to the officers mess to hear how Major Currie won his
V.C. at falaise gap. A tug of war between sections and on the way out a handout on todays reserve unit.

Made front page news on the local paper for each of the high schools. The teachers have signed on for next semester, we got cards of thanks from the students to the Nco's that are posted in our armoury and six recruits.

How many make it through CFRC is another discussion. If you would like more info on this hands on type of activity give me an e-mail or phone call at 306 756 5303.
Regards,
bill
