I have been a reservist for over two years now and i have never missed a parade night and i have only missed one exercise. My beef is with individuals who are constantly missing training, and who do not put forth any effort to show any sort of commitment. I realize that many can not focus their lives around the reserves, but you are only asked to appear one night per week and the occaisional weekend. It is not just another part time job. When you signed on the dotted lign and swore allegiance to the Queen you agreed to put 100% effort into your training and parading. If you do show up every parade night and for exercises i congradulate you. Another thing is, if you are going to show up, make it worth your time. Put the most into your training so you can get the most out of it. Also, you are being paid to be there so EARN your pay.
