Probably the best reference your can use is"Distinguishing Patches", Formation Patches of the Canadian Army, by Clive M. Law. Available from:

This magazine sized booklet also contains a full colour poster (suitable for framing) of WW1 and WW11 patches, to which you would probably wish to refer.

Another source for the pub is local gun shows or militaria shows. Expect to pay around $25.00.
