So now that it's in writing by a 'learned' individual that has 'validity' in the real world has stated the obvious...shit happens. Any way you slice it, Airborne got the major FLINCH slash that cost the Army its' spine.

I know that there are people that have participated in rituals that may , at the time appreared weird, disgusting or downright wacko. If you survived, the brothers and sisters that survived with you are the tightest group that will ever be in your life; closer perhaps than your family. They become your family because they have done something that sets you all apart from the rest of the peons.

Ask the vets that survived Korea or Viet Nam how they feel about their brothers in arms that patrolled, ate, partied, screwed and survived with them if they are still in touch. Probably more than they are with their own kith and kin. They have a language unique to each unit or sub-unit that could never be understood by anyone that has not had the experience.

Jumpers, SEALS, Delta teams, SF, Spetznaz, Tact officers all are parts of their own breeds that the stroke of a politicians pen will never rent apart.

They can 'warm and fuzy' folks to death, but they will never understand because they haven't been there themselves.

Up your Kilt!!
