It's quite possible I'm missing something, but I keep seeing requests for the "Old" War Diary format, and as far as I can tell, it's been in service for some time now.
Just to clarify, when a posting is made, it is stored in both the new (threaded) format, and the old (long) format.

If that's not the issue, and the new attempt at making the old version was just not sufficient, please let me know what the specific problems are, and I can certainly remedy them.
My intent is not to deter people from reading or posting because of an inappropriate format, so I would like to ensure that I provide everything I can. Suggestions are always welcome.
