When my step-father died 8 years ago, none of his kids wanted his medals. When my mother asked if I wanted them, I felt that they really shouldn't be passed to me. We asked the legion if they would display them and they helped us to have them put on display in a local elementary school. They are still the property of my mother but instead of lying hidden away in a drawer they are on public display.
