CF Chinooks were taken out of service 1990/1991. There were 3 with 447 Sqn Edmonton(The Happy Hookers), and 4 with 450 Sqn Ottawa, each costing about $10,00.00 per hour to operate. After a short stay at Mountainview(the CF aircraft "boneyard"), they were all bought by the Dutch government who contracted with Boeing Vertol for conversion to the "D" model. This is the same type which is currently in service with US Forces.
