Are the only engineering trades practised at Engineer Regiments Field Engineering and Heavy Equipment Operator? I ask this because in the British Army each RE Regiment is made up of soldiers who are all Combat (Field) Engineers that also have another trade such as Plant Operator, Construction Materials Tech or Fitter. Some of these guys will do nothing but Combat Engineering and some will primarily operate earthmoving equipment etc.
Are the courses available to field engineers fairly easy to get on (soil analysis etc)?
What pay band are Field Engineers and HEO's on?
After the initial 20 week course, when and how long are the upgrading courses?
