Having been involved with Changing the Guard on Parliament Hill, I am always annoyed that the RCMP do not salute, or even stand to attention during the playing of Oh Canada during the ceremony (not just the RCMP on patrol duty, but those in their scarlets). I have also seen groups of Boy Scouts sitting on the grass during our National Anthem. (Not their fault, however I made a point to mention it to their "leaders" after the parade).
I may be old fashioned, but sometimes I feel that the basic respect due at ceremonies, places and times where it is required is being lost and forgotten. Forgotten to the extent that it is leaving our society's common knowledge, and some people have no clue how inappropriately they are acting.
In short, the "Politically Correct" are sometimes are far from it.
