Good question you have. I think the short answer is that as long as politicians continue to shoot from the lip (always) that the CF will have to be ready to do/go wherever tasked. Shortages of personnel and materiel are a "management" responsibility, left in the hands of those tasked to run the CF. Just reading that sentence shows an inherent conflict....nevertheless - pride in service tends to bring the best out of all Forces personnel. That said - perhaps those of us no longer serving should be lobbying our politicians for better materiel and better operational equipment and just about better everything for the serving personnel in the Forces. PS - Dickey - I really enjoyed your paper - if you can, please email me a copy!
